Great tribute to the fallen.
My partner made it a point to visit this tribute to our families who served in Vietnam, my father who survived and my partners cousin who did not, we were able to take an imprint of his name as a memento. It is a moving experience for sure. We also visited with my father and to watch him cry, I could only try to envision what he saw there.
Moving Tribute to Veterans of a Controversial War
It is a very emotional experience to visit this memorial, and I remember hearing the quiet sobs of other visitors. The design is austere and ingenious, with a depression in the earth representing a scar in our history. The black granite contains the names of the more than 58,200 Americans who were killed or missing. A visit to the Vietnam Veterans Memorial is a very emotional experience, and one that should not be missed.
