The High Line is a public park built on a historic freight rail line elevated above the streets on Manhattan's West Side. It opened in June 2009, repurposing a 1930s lifted track that last carried trains in 1980. This grassy urban oasis features public art, extensive gardens, and free programming for adults and families. You'll find a mixed LGBTQ+ and straight crowd enjoying the outdoor seating and stunning views of the city.

Start your walk around 23rd Street and head south toward the Meatpacking District for plenty of food options. On your way, you can also stop by the nearby Museum of Modern Art (MoMA) for a dose of indoor culture.
