Shaky start
Sadly all leathermen were in dungeon where there is a dress code. The upper bar was boring. I'm from Columbus and I have to say leather scene at home is more fun, as I have several leather friends. I hope Cleveland turns out to be better than my first experiences.
Leather bar not!
Why do they advertise this as a leather bar? Nothing leather about it. Saturdays are home to drag queens...yeah, and they call this a leather bar! Went to strip show a couple of times. Twink strippers- not into that, specially at a "leather" bar. Cocktails has been remodelling basement dungeon forever...prob never will reopen. Forget it!
It does have potential
Maybe this bar can return to the fun days it once had. The barstaff could be better although like others say James is a hit. Good jukebox, tends to be a quiet crowd, and a large smokers patio for those who need one. Lots of room to mingle. Pool tables. Some nights dancers and karaoke, but I'd vote against those events. The downstairs leather dungeon is now closed. Hopefully they do something good with that space. The area is not the best, just exercise some common sense when going to and from your ride.
The lowdown no BS
Three stars for the OK bartenders and the clean and spacious bar. But thats all. Maybe when they open the remodeled dungeon it will be better. Upstairs its empty most nights. What you find. One little group of a woman and her two men friends sit at the far end of the bar and talk among themselves all night. At the other end of the bar old men and thirty yo's come and go. Most guys dont sit at the tables except on weekends. Friday and Saturday drag queens fill the bar. Ive seen some of the strip shows and they are best skipped unless you like super skinny flamers with an occasional 'straight' guy 'just doing it for the money'. Who needs this? I dont.
Usually festive, always see somebody you might know
Wed./Sun. night karaoke usually draws in a good crown during the warm parts of the year. Sunday potluck dinner on Sunday's was always fun & interesting food themes in the earlier afternoon. Fri./Sat. drag shows-(sometimes a benefit show, or leather competitions, too.) The downstairs basement/dungeon bar is interesting at times. * * *
