Entering this cavernous gym it is nothing short of breathtaking. The heigh-ceilinged former warehouse takes up an entire city block, and its lofty feel makes working out seem less like a chore and more like a pleasure. It is also a spectacular gay experience. Regulars jokingly call the brown concrete pathway to the locker room the "runway" as it leaves the distinct impression of being on display as you enter and depart. And in fact there is indeed much modeling as the gym rats show off hard-earned muscle in carefully coordinated gym wear. The cruising tends to be somewhat subtle as people here are very serious about their workouts. The locker room, alas, lacks the design appeal of the gym floor, and sweaty men are packed into a small awkward space like sardines. For the full experience check it out right after work, between 5-7 pm when it is packed. For a more peaceful workout, try it in the evening or during the week day hours.

The bf and I work out here. We Luv it. Great eye candy. I really like the layout of the place too. Very friendly staff and a cool vibe.

Always Enjoyable

One of the best gyms I've been to, and it has that sweet spot combination of very entertaining crowd, really well thought-out equipment, good layout, easy to use, and a fantastic friendly atmosphere. I hesitate to criticize but the locker room/shower area isn't ideal. There are no endless towels or other amenities which other top-end gyms would have. Parking can be complex when crowded, amplified by the general SF antipathy towards cars. Worth a visit.
