About
The Midtown location of this big chain is popular for its free classes, courts, pool and machines, of course, but it is also known for being one of the best places to scope out what Midtown has to offer in the way of eye candy. Plenty of gay men leave Montrose to workout at this sometimes crowded location.

This cavernous gym is well designed, though like many chain gyms lacks certain equipment hardcore bodybuilders will look for (I always look for a T-Bar row). Well laid-out, it will have a tendency to invite more members, but there are easily large groups of "bottleneck" machines that need more redundancy - a single Roman Chair for the entire facility, for example. Good light, very clean, lockers require padlocks. Heard some comments about problems with things missing from members. Parking can be very, very difficult at peak periods. Feedback is that some members are migrating to LA Fitness near the Galleria area. OK amenities (no shaving equipment for instance) but not luxurious, towel service. As chain gyms go, one of the better examples.
