Bad location
We stayed here for one night and found we were in a bad location. You can't walk to anything really. The hotel felt cold and there was a fight that broke out in the Lobby as we were check in. Only stayed 2 of the 5 nights we had booked. A cab to Hilcrest was $28
Great hotel
The W is a cool gay-frienfly hotel where gays and straights mix, mingle, and party. The rooms are fabulous and extremely comfortable. The W occasionally hosts gay parties at the rooftop liynge and they are fabulous too.
Excellent Rooftop Bar
I haven't seen the rooms but I spent sunset on the rooftop bar overlooking the city. OK bar service but great views and beautiful pool. I'm sure the rooms are opulent -- it's a W for pete's sake!
Fabulous Place
I know all my friends have stayed at the W San Diego at least once and all have really enjoyed it. Not only is this a great place to stay but a magnificent place to party and mingle. Its one of the first hotels in San Diego to participate in our Pride parade and really support the gay community. I love the W San Diego.
