About

The crowd at YOTEL New York skews design-conscious and practical: travelers who'd rather spend on a hottub terrace than on wasted square footage. This Times Square micro-hotel brings the airline-cabin concept to land, with 713 compact "cabins" that fold beds into walls and pack in tech-laden walls. It's a queer-friendly spot—no frills, but clever with space. The 4th-floor lobby, called FOUR, is the real draw: it houses the city's largest hotel terrace, a bar, restaurant, and espresso bar, plus the robotic YOBOT that stows your luggage.

"This hotel follows the same concept as their cabin hotels found in airports around the world, so the rooms are very small."

The vibe is functional, not plush—ratings average 2.9 out of 5 on Yelp, often citing room size as a trade-off for price. But regulars know to book a Premium or First cabin for more elbow room or a private outdoor terrace with hot tub. The hotel stays open 24/7, which suits late arrivals or early departures. Want a classic Times Square high-rise instead? Check the nearby Sheraton New York Times Square Hotel for a more conventional stay.

“Quite Nice, great public space, small rooms”

This hotel follows the same concept as their cabin hotels found in airports around the world, so the rooms are very small. But they manage to use the space well with a bed that folds into the wall and clean, stylish finishes. I treated myself to a room with a patio and a hot tub, and it was spacious and definitely worth the extra cost. The best part is the fourth floor lobby, which is huge and has plenty of comfortable seating for hanging out, using Wi-Fi, and eating, plus a great outdoor area if the weather is nice. I would stay here again.

Watch out for the toilet in your room. Never again.

“You must!”

The staff was excellent, the rooms were clean and reasonably priced, and the atmosphere was trendy. The location in Midtown is very convenient. I will stay here every time I come back to the city. Go Yotel!
