Over a year ago everyone will tell you to come here for dinner--the food is some of the best in the city, and the chicken is a famous staple. the interior of the brick, triangular building with floor to ceiling windows is another draw. but my fave it to come here for lunch on a nice day. there are seats on the sidewalk, and you can watch the bustle of people come and go along market street.

I must be missing something....

People rave about how great Zuni is so I've dined at Zuni's not once, but three (3) times in the past six years (I didn't understand what the fuss was all about the first time, so I wanted to be fair and try again) However, each time the food was just okay; not what I would expect from a restaurant of this 'supposed' caliber and price level. (I'm glad 2 of the 3 times I was taken as a guest and didn't choke when the bill came). With the exception of my last visit, the waitstaff was generally (and unacceptably) inattentive almost bordering on rude. No fourth time for me, thank you. There are many other restaurants in SF that know how to make their customers feel like the time and money spent was worth every penny.

SF Staple

Tasty, but overpriced. Great people-watching spot.

zuni is my breakfast at Tiffany's.

Nothing can really go wrong at Zuni. I always have a magical time, whether I'm having a simple bowl of polenta or doing it up with oysters, champagne and several courses. it is a place to celebrate life transitions and for memorable occasions. And on Gay Pride Sunday, it's the best place to hang out and swap stories.

excellent!

They change their menu every day using seasonal ingredients, and i've always had excellent dishes there. They have a good selection of oysters too and service is great as well. * * *
