Coffee house with Karma
Have a plain ol' cup of joe while you read thru the extensive list of drinks on the chalkboard. Don't see it? Just ask. The food is so tasty. I make this my first stop when in town. Mixed customers, friendly, no busy-bodies. Relax and enjoy
Save the Ritual
This place is wonderful for all types. The music is awesome, one thursday a month there is an open mic. The food is fantastic and the staff is always friendly. This is def. a place Des Moines should try to keep around even through a tough economy.

Ritual is actually located on the westside of downtown. It is west of the river. Worth going to for the incredible experience!
