About
Westway Diner is a big, busy diner for New Yorkers. Breakfast is consistent and served all day, you'll always run into someone you know (even if you're in from Nebraska, just check the booths in the back). The burgers are good, the coffee hot, and the scene is laid back and filled with quirky characters, out of work actors, writers, directors, and all walks of midtown life.
From the Owner
Peter D. was born into the family diner business! His father and uncle found the perfect spot and opened Westway Diner back in 1988. Peter worked there as a kid and returned after college to run the popular restaurant. With such a legacy, you know you'll be getting the best diner food you've ever had at Westway Diner!
Established in 1988, Westway Diner is a family owned and operated restaurant. Well-known as a local favorite, you will always see a familiar face enjoying the food and the atmosphere, especially the murals alongside one wall that reflect life in the "Big Apple." Westway serves and delivers to all, whether they are residents of the area, business people or tourists. And with an extensive eight-page menu, everybody can be satisfied. Have a craving for a waffle at 10 PM? Don't you worry, because all the breakfast items are available at any time! And that's just the beginning, with sandwiches, salads, desserts and much more available whenever you want them. The choices are endless. What are you in the mood for?

won the award!!!
ate here last week with some friends while i was in ny. must say that it seems to have "weathered" a bit, but as diner food goes, it is still pretty good and a tradition in hell's kitchen.
