Old School
Mary Coyle is truly an old school establishment. Everything about it screams 70+ years old. My partner and I came here around 8pm on a Saturday night. While he enjoyed the vibe more than I did, the ice cream sundae we split was alright. Service was good. The crowd consisted of mostly families, plus a group of high school kids. We were the only gay couple there and although we felt a little out of place after so many weekends in Columbus, no one really made us feel uncomfortable. After the ice cream, we went to see a movie at the Highland Theater, another bizarre place. I'm still not sure what to make of Highland Square.
Homemade ice cream and Italian specialties
This place is a step back in time. This place has not changed in 75 years and is clean as a button. The ice cream is smooth and flavorful and the italian dishes are hand made by the owner. It is like being in a diner from the fifties.
