About
Truly excellent and fresh Mexican food comes out of Hugo's kitchen, but the truth is that the Montrose gay scene mostly comes here for Sunday brunch. The brunch is a "grand buffet" with a truly impressive cocktail menu and live music.

Really interesting food, fantastic service. Impressed!
Almost Nothing Like It
Where else can you get goat, grasshoppers, and rabbit to nibble on with a fantastic margarita? Great and exciting menu to explore, wonderful service. Food is always amazingly well prepared, delicious, and perfect proportions. Having taken over a failing plumbing shop years ago, Hugo's brings high-end Mexican cuisine to the Montrose area, and in Houston I've simply not had anything even close to it's quality for Mexican. It's like going through a cookbook of very complex, fascinating food that you don't dare to try to prepare yourself. The mexican coffee is great as a finisher, with an amazing depth of flavor. My only complaint is that with the tin ceiling, Hugo's can be extraordinarily noisy when people are really enjoying their food.
no very gay but great food
There is a buffet on Sunday that looked amazing. Its $27. I mostly saw families dining and it is very upscale. I'm from out of town and the food has a mexican flare and all is well presented and excellant. Vallet parking avl. Not a brunch party with cackling gays though
