The Rodeo Drive of the Desert
If you want to shop at designer stores, this is the only place to do it in the desert. There is a big indoor shopping mall right across Highway 111, but they don't have the really nice stores like El Paseo. This is the desert version of Rodeo Drive in Beverly Hills. It's very nice and I like going here. Update Sep 2009, a few stores closed here because of the week economy.

..Everytime when I'm in town I go to this mall. I just love-it there brousing through the shops. I know everything is all high end but so what. They have a real nice Starbucks love to go there and people watch..Its a lot of fun & relaxing.
Great Upscale Shopping in Palm Desert
I agree with the reviewer who questioned the wisdom of building an outdoor mall in the desert. So El Paseo is fairly dead (and really hot!) in the summer. But during the other 9 months, it's a great place to stroll around or visit the many upscale shops and restaurants. Shop or just enjoy the ambience of the place.
Nice Stores
Anybody but me wonder why they built an outdoor shopping center with this hot weather? Stores are good tho. Also a couple restaurants including CPK.
