With the sad closure of the Oscar Wilde Bookstore in New York, Giovanni's Room is now the oldest gay bookstore in the country. And it is worthy of that title. Located in the heart of Gay Philly, Giovanni's Room is a spacious store packed with all sorts of queer literature. The regularly scheduled guest authors are a who's who of gay literary greats, and you are sure to happen across some cute literary lovers.

Historic Landmark
This is the 1st alternative lifestyle bookstore I ever knew. The oldest LGBTQ bookstore in our nation that I know still in existence. It also sells movies, CDs, comics, magazines, newspapers, jewelry & other accessories. I remember purchasing my 1st Queer book there. I will feel such disappointment to see it vanish, because of technology.
