About
You walk into Dixon Place and immediately feel the history of experimental theater in New York. What started in 1985 as a literary salon in Artistic Director Ellie Covan's Paris apartment has become a home for emerging LGBT artists in theater, dance, music, and literature. This intimate venue on the Lower East Side hosts the famous HOT! Festival of Queer Performance every summer. It's the longest running queer performance festival in the world. The space is small and unpretentious, with two performance spaces that often sell out.
