About

Stop in and check out the landmark bar that basically started the gay rights movement. On June 28, 1969, New York City police raided the Stonewall Inn. It wasn't the first time, but this time a riot broke out on Christopher Street. The following week of protests around Stonewall sparked a movement for LGBTQ+ Americans. Cross this historic site off your travel bucket list and pay tribute to those who paved the way for LGBTQ+ rights.

Over a year ago The Stonewall Inn is hands down a gem that holds an irreplaceable spot in queer history and deserves no less than a five-star rating. This place is legendary, and it deserves all the praise for its iconic role. The vibe at The Stonewall Inn is just right, whether you're in the mood for a laid-back day drink or a fun night out. When the upstairs is open, you can expect an awesome drag show and dancing that'll keep you going all night long. It's the perfect spot to let loose, celebrate, and embrace the incredible history of the LGBTQ+ community. Oh, and the drinks? Strong and affordable, even by NYC standards. You won't be disappointed.

Cute, laid back spot no real wow factor

This is a great place to get an early drink, amazing cheap and strong compared to other venues in town. Once liquored up though time to move on ;O)

Gay Historic Site

There was a time when I went to the Stonewall and got a t-shirt as well as a matchbook (which I have framed), but over the years, I think it's changed, and haven't been there in a long time. I liked it, but there are other places I like better.

We've come a long way LGBT ACTIVISTS

I like the STONEWALL INN, and I am proud to have have been a part of the Stonewall riots of June 28, 1969, 46 years ago. The Stonewall has survived the anti-gay and homophobic insults, and it still exists as the home of the brave for all people of the LGBT communities. www.huffingtonpost.com/scott-g-brown * * *
