About
Jean-Georges Vongerichten, born and raised in Alsace, brings the taste of France to New York with this exquisite restaurant. The 3-course fixed menu is a delicious introduction to his cuisine, while the 7-course is well worth the splurge.
From the Owner
Jean-Georges Vongerichten's critically acclaimed flagship offers the very best in fine dining. Awarded four stars by the New York Times and three Michelin stars, the restaurant features an exquisitely crafted menu blending French, American and Asian influences; the impeccable service, table-side preparations and floor-to-ceiling window views of Central Park and Columbus Circle all contribute to an unforgettable dining experience. Jean Georges offers a three course, $138 prix-fixe menu and two $218 six course tasting menus - a traditional tasting with signature dishes from Chef Vongerichten, and a seasonal tasting featuring fresh market ingredients. The restaurant also offers a terrific value with a two-course lunch menu for $58.

Special Occasions....or Lunch
This is one of my favorite high-end restaurants in the city. There's nothing particularly gay about it, even though my partner and I celebrated our 5th anniversary here a few years ago. We didn't feel out of place, even though the crowd can be a little stuffy. Food and service are impeccable. Go for the tasting menu with wine pairings for dinner and it will be a really special night. OR -- go for lunch, where they have a fantastic deal -- essentially $15 per plate of many of the same dishes on the full dinner menu.
