About

Bar: Full bar

It offers an exquisite blend of French, American, and Asian cuisines, earning three Michelin stars and four stars from the New York Times. The crowd here is mixed gay-straight, mostly 30-somethings up to 50-somethings, making it a welcoming spot for a special occasion without being a specifically gay venue. The service is impeccable, and the floor-to-ceiling windows overlook Central Park and Columbus Circle.

"It's not especially gay-oriented, though my partner and I had our 5th anniversary dinner here a few years ago and felt comfortable despite the somewhat formal crowd."

For the best value, go for the two-course lunch menu at $58. Dinner offers a three-course prix-fixe for $138 or six-course tasting menus for $218. Reservations are expected, and dressy attire is recommended.

“Special Occasions....or Lunch”

This is a top-tier fine dining spot in the city. It's not especially gay-oriented, though my partner and I had our 5th anniversary dinner here a few years ago and felt comfortable despite the somewhat formal crowd. The food and service are flawless. For a memorable evening, get the tasting menu with wine pairings. Alternatively, lunch offers an incredible value at about $15 per plate, with many dishes from the dinner menu.
