Peg & Deb's 60's/70's style bakery located in the heart of the Lower East Side. We're fans of any bakery that has two different types of Red Velvet cake (Sexy Red Velvet and Sassy Red Velvet). Cupcakes are $1.50 each or $18/dozen.
From the Owner
Deb originally hails from Holbrook, MA. Like most young women dreams of making it big in NYC propelled her to NY to the School of Dramatic Arts. Deb worked at another bakery and decided she liked the retail environment. Years later tired of the gypsy life style and a stint at an advertising agency, the idea to open a store was born with good friend and now biz partner Peg. They set off to bake every Sunday in deb's apt. and sugar Sweet sunshine opened their doors in 2003. So, although dancing and singing on stage is not where life took deb, you can usually find her behind the counter icing cupcakes and cakes and of course singing & dancing while her staff looks on going, is that really my boss :)
Full line of baked goods from cupcakes, cakes, brownies, cookies, pies & puddings. Feel good desserts like mom use to make. Serving up coffee, espresso and loose teas. Warm muffins & buns in the morning. A place to sit and enjoy your wares.
