In addition to a bounty of products, Babeland’s website provides free information encouraging people to explore their sexualities. Plus, with their "Come for a Cause" initiative, Babeland supports various non-profit organizations throughout the year.

From the Owner

As a student at Wesleyan, Rachel became interested in feminism, living in the "Feminist House" her second year. She spent her junior year in Nepal pursuing an interest in Tibetan Buddhism as a Religious Studies major. She also completed a self-directed course of study on sexuality. Upon graduation she moved to Seattle. After various jobs including river raft guide and gourmet candy maker, Rachel entered the University of Washington's business school. As a student at Brown University, Claire's introduction to the feminist community provided her the inspiration that led to her current career. Her studies were focused in both the "Gender Studies and Modern Culture" and the "Media" departments. She was also an active member of the campus Women's Center. After college, Claire moved to Seattle and worked in publishing. During that time she also worked as a researcher, charting the second wave of feminism for a documentary. In 1993 Claire and Rachel joined forces and founded Babeland.
